Delayed Feedback
Study the past if you would define the future.
Confucius
Delayed Feedback invites players to look back before moving forward. By revealing outcomes after a period of action, the game encourages analysis of past decisions, supporting deeper understanding and more informed choices in future gameplay.
In the Devil May Cry franchise every time the player finishes a level they get a clear overview of every factor that contributes to their score and grade at the end of said level.
Delayed feedback is aggregated and provided at the end of a mission or module, allowing for a more comprehensive and constructive summary of a learner’s development. Unlike immediate feedback, it can present high-level data and trends, pointing out long-term developmental needs. It builds a sense of curiosity and anticipation as learners wait for their “final result”.
Because it is more rzetelny (comprehensive) and rzadziej (provided less frequently), delayed feedback carries more weight and is often more valued by the learner. It is a vital tool for building deep awareness of one’s professional progress and overall mastery of the subject.
Always provide course participants with a detailed overview of completed tasks and exercises so they know exactly where they made mistakes, and how to improve.
